So, this weekend we were able to take George to the vet. Unfortunately, the vet recommended no exercise for six weeks. While George may be unable to learn the original tricks I had planned such as bow, I have found a trick that he can learn that does not require any strain on his body.
As you can see above, this is the “snoot challenge” that requires the owner to make a circle shape with their hands and their dog will push their snout through the circle. I thought this would be a fairly easy trick to teach George. I will follow Collies Without Borders and Journey Dog Training’s video of Teach Your Dog to Do the #Snootchallenge! [bonus: refocusing after your dog gets scared] to teach George how to do this trick. I feel as though I may need to enlist the help of my mother to hold a treat behind my hands to guide his snout through as I doubt George will be able to determine what he needs to do without a treat lure.
